Jean Bruneau has illustrated many books. The first in 1947, with "Des femmes, de l'homme, du coeur" by La Bruyère, edited by Sylvain Chiffoleau, followed by "Huit contes de Monsieur de Voltaire", then "J'ai été médecin de campagne" and "Le margrave" by Jobic Le Bihan. He has also produced many highly illustrated works for the Nantes tourist office, not to mention all the typical Épinal images and the notebooks of the Académie de Bretagne et des Pays-de-Loire.
